  1. What is the significance of the quote "Afghanistan is for pashtuns"? on page 40.

    1. well Eli that quote is significant because the country is changing with the republic and he is trying to voice his opinion about what he think about the Hazaras and that the country is trying to get rid of them. Also the quote is significant because it puts Hassan's future in question.

    1. I do believe Baba has a warmhearted soul. I do believe they will touch on it in the near future.

    2. I think he did this because he watched his wife die during birth, which is quite common in less wealthy countries. So I think this is why he has a soft spot for orphans.

    3. That is a good explanation

  4. Why did the bike fall over?

  5. The fact that Hasaan and Amir are friends will probably end bad because other people will target Amir because he is friends with Hasaan.

    1. Oh wow Jack great question. I do believe it does. Just the scene represents there friendship. You get that there friends and having a great moment, but when Amir says "I can convince him to shoot walnuts and the one eyed German Shepard" as you can see Hassan will do it, but is it because he's Amirs slave, or his friend? I believe there friends.

  17. Takeaway: I learned that I need to pay attention more to the inner circle so I can take more from their discussion.

Question: What is a communist detat?

    ReplyDelete
  18. I have a better understanding of some of the confusing vocabulary the book uses. What role do mothers play in a young boy's life?

    ReplyDelete
  19. I never realized that Baba seems to prefer Hassan over his own son, and I still want to know why Hassan never tells on Amir?

    ReplyDelete
  20. I really started to understand the book a better. I need to catch up with my reading and create better questions and come to the next fishbowl more prepared. How do the relationships that Amir has effect who he is?

    ReplyDelete
  21. 1. One takeaway is that a fishbowl is a really good way to discuss, and that if I'm not prepared, not only will I have no idea about what's going on but I won't be able to participate whatsoever.

    2. Why is chapter 7 going to be disturbing? It is when the major chain of events happen?

    ReplyDelete
  22. I saw a lot more detail that was discussed.
Is redemption the ultimate goal of the protagonist?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Is Amir's delay from sports represent his risk taking and bravery? Will something happen that he will have to make a decision that has to do with the alleyway, and bravery?

    ReplyDelete
  24. I learned why the two different religions dont like eachother

Could Amar not having a mom affect the way he acts and why he cant defend himself?

    ReplyDelete
  25. I need to pay closer attention to details so I can bring up different points and contribute to the conversation.

How will the relationship between Hassan and Amir change over time?

    ReplyDelete
  26. One take away I had about Fishbowl is to always be prepared to ask level one two and three questions. One question I have is, when you change your appearance, are you changing your personality?

    ReplyDelete
  27. This Fishbowl thing is actually easier than I though.

Does Baba blame his son for the death of his wife?

    ReplyDelete
  28. The fact that Amir's mom died giving birth to him could have a large effect on Baba and Amir's relationship.

Is it good or bad for Amir and Hassan that there is a new government?

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm taking away the knowledge of the fact that baba is passionate about building an orphanage.

What is the significance of the kite?

    ReplyDelete
  30. I think the converation was not as hard as i thought it was going to be.
On page 55, Why was it the last time he ever saw Hassan run a kite?

    ReplyDelete
  31. I learned that i need to slow my reading down and pay more attention to the book.

One comment that that i still don't get would be what happened to amirs mom

    ReplyDelete
  32. 1. I took away other peoples points of views?
    2.What happened in chapter 7

    ReplyDelete
  33. I learned that maybe Amir is just a reminder to Baba about his wife and maybe that's why he isn't so loving or nice to his son sometimes. I still want to know why Baba can't let it go and be nice to his son.

    ReplyDelete
  34. One take away I had abut the Kite Runner is that if you annotate and ask questions then you will understand the story better.

Why does Amir like Hassan so much?
